Buying first pair of designer jeans

I'm looking to buy my first raw denims. I'm size 30-31. I was thinking of APC New Standards but there's not many stores here to try those on here. So I was told the equivalent to those are NUdie Slim Jims. Tried those on at holts at size 30 and man were they tight. I could barely get into them. They looked like womens jeans when I wore them because they were wrapped aroundn my thighs and calves so tightly and they looked kinda tapered. I know they're suppose to stretch, but I question if they will still look tight after stretching, because I was looking for something straight and slim.

So anyways, I tried on another NUdie, forgot the style but it's the regular boot cut. And when I wore that, that's the look I wanted to go for. It was just straight down, cept I wanted it more low rise (that one seemed high). I probably won't be getting that type b/c I know it will stretch out and look baggy. But if I wanted to achieve that look after stretching, will the New Standards or Slim Jims give me that after stretching?

you might want to start with the APC Rescues. Denimbar ships for cheaper than most places. They should have a return policy too if they don't fit.

I think APC NS would be a good choice, and in terms of the sizing, if you sized one down from your normal size, I'd imagine the NS would stretch out to give the tapered but not tight look that you are looking for, as opposed to many people who size down two to apparently get the look that you described with the Slim Jims.

I would imagine that it differs from person to person based on thier proportions.

However, though from the measurements that azaleasf sent me for a few sizes of apc jeans it doesnt seem like that sized down 2 from my true waist size would be particuarly tight, and I have pretty large theighs and posterior for my waist size.

for instance here is a size 32 new standard (which is 2 down from my true 34)

34 - waist
11 - front rise
14 - back rise
35 - inseam
18 - knee
16 - hem

and here are the measurements I took from a pair of size 34x34 capitol E 501's

34 - waist
11.25 - front
14.5 - back
12.5 - theigh , taken from inseam point to edge - perpindicular to outseam
33.5 - inseam
18.5 - knee
17 - hem

So from what I can see the ns's down 2 are a little slimmer but nothing very drastic (esp considering 501's arent really that slim by a lot of peoples standards), and thats before the apc's have stretched.
