Buying Dress Shirts as Casual Shirts?

Normally when I go to stores, I see shirts on hangers and shirts in the "Dress Shirt" section (Folded and packaged)

Sometimes though, I see dress shirts with elaborate stripes and colors thought shouldn't be worn with a suit to a business dress office.

Could these be considered casual dress shirts? Great to wear with a sport coat but not casual enough to leave untucked.

Sounds about right to me. Hell, I frequently wear dress shirts untucked but as far as I know it's a big no-no here on SF.

In retail, what makes it a "dress shirt" is the fact that it is sized by neck and sleeve size rather than S,M, or L.

It's only a "big no-no" when the shirt is too baggy and too long. All my dress shirts are quite slim but they are much longer than my dress shirts so I don't wear them untucked.

Button up shirts worn untucked should be cropped (as in many inches shorts that a dress shirt)
