As a quasi former resident of England, I do enjoy a good hard Cider (Strongbow, Scrumpy Jack ect).
Yet all I can find in the states is stuff like Woodchuck, which tastes more like Beer and apple flavoring to me.

Does anyone know where one can buy real hard cider stateside?

Has anyone tried any of the various online liquor merchants?

In the Poconos, I drink 1, with a beaver. It's made, in VT.

You can get Normandy sparkling cider at some of the better wine shops. Sold in 750ml bottles with corks. Not quite the same, but not necessarily bad, either.

The nicer supermarkets in Seattle stock Strongbow, but what I wouldn't give for a cold 4-pak of Scrumpy. Mmm.

Not a big fan of strongbow, but I do like the scrumpy jack...

In fact, I am meeting a friend in the pub in a little while. I shall have one for you.

Maybe two

Maybe .....

My UK friends always talk about "Magners", apparently it's a new cider taken the UK Cider market by storm.

I'm dying to try some, I've heard it's served over ice.

Magners is good, but the idea to serve it over ice was brilliant. I don't know who came up with that but the ad campaign (big close-up pictures of a glass on ice in the ******* HOT Tube tunnels last summer) was so simple and perfect. I read that cider sales shot up 400% last summer, based mostly on the introduction of Magners to the market.

Serving it on ice isn't a new idea, either; it's what women in my parents' area have always done. It's just okay for men to do it now too.

I'm going to give this one a bit of a bump.

Have some JK's Scrumpy and some Samuel Smith in my fridge. Anyone else drinking it this summer?

Is this the drink that was in Fantastic Mr. Fox?

I asked about this before, but got no answer. What is that drink called, and could I find it at Bevmo, or would I have to order it online?
