I would like to answer this question from a buyers perspective. This question may well represent ignorance on the part of the seller on how on how garments are measured. I can not speak on personal experience on the part of buying pants on ebay, since I do not but pants. But I can say when it comes to buying jackets there is no industry standard on how jackets are measured. For instance, total length of jacket. Some measure from the top of the collar, others from the bottom. Shoulder to shoulder: some measure from the front of the jacket, others from the back. This can make a difference of close to one inch in actual jacket measurement. For a size 38, the standard shoulder length across the back is 18 inches. If they provide a measurement of 18" across the front, that is 19" across the back the jacket will start to resemble the power suits of the 80s. You will also be surprised on how many ebayers also ignored by request for clarification.

You can't possibly be suggesting that the seller cannot measure the item more accurately than the buyer can estimate the item's measurements from a picture of it laid flat? We aren't talking about providing measurements in general, but that particular request was absurd.

As far as jackets, I've started to get very specific about shoulders...as said earlier, no industry standard for how to measure shoulders. I ask for the measurement from the back seam to the shoulder seam. I assure them I'm a serious buyer just making sure the product will fit me. In a few instances, the measurements they gave ended up being different than the listed measurements, so I suppose they were using a different method.

My apologies. I should have said ignorance on the part of the buyer not seller.

Refund. Worse yet if he wins, ebay could tell him to "destroy" the fake jacket instead of sending it back.

eBay buyer just bought both of my Rugby cardigans by accident, wants to just buy one but is in Italy and didn't contact me before purchase. Would it be ok to ship or should I just cancel the transactions?

Thanks guys, never really had Italian buyers before so not too sure what to do

Were both separate ebay transactions? You should be fine to ship one if it is completely separate from the other. Just make sure to ship express to be protected. I think PayPal protects sellers for Italy, but double check their policy.

I have only ever had one transaction with Italy and it did not end well, but that was likely a fluke. I was the buyer and was buying an unlocked iPhone (this was years ago when you had to purchase internationally). The seller actually paid 20 bucks to ship me an empty package. Straight up bubble mailer with nothing inside. I really think it was just a fluke bad seller, though.

I thought you weren't allowed to ship clothing to Italy. Is that a myth?

Yeah not sure, that's why I was asking. Search says you can't ship shoes for sure and anything woven, which I think the sweater would be. And yes he bought one then bought the other by accident

Not sure what listing this is for, but when a buyer wants to relist an item they bought them me I always tell them they can reuse my pictures. It helps take some of the sting out of refusing to accept a return.

They didn't buy from me. Bought from a store to flip. They just stole my pictures.

You can always file off a DMCA takedown request. Those pictures are your copyright!

I'm not sure if this is serious? I really don't know the photography copyright laws, it just irked me a bit. I did report the listing, but it will probably end before ebay even does anything about it.

You are the copyright holder. You took the pictures, therefore, you are the author. A copyright was created the moment the picture was created in a tangible form (saved as electronic file on your memory card).
