Jesus, your poor mother.
I've heard tell that Wes arose fully formed from the tangled depths of a dollar tie bin.
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, he emerged with fistfuls of Hermes and made in Italy JABs.
This is the reason that ties should be shipped rolled in a box.
Putting this guy on blast (already added to the black list). balou61757
Left neg feedback for "high shipping" when shipping was clearly listed in the auction, did not ask if reduced shipping was possible before bidding and winning, AND I offered him a full refund if he did not think it was a fair value if he returned the item...... $10.50 item with $5.99 shipping. Feedback removed, but PIA.
He's not new either, almost 2,500 feedback.
OK, maybe one for the orphan reuniting hall of fame.
Was in DC April 9th and bought a zegna orphan "taglia esclusivo" jacket at the fairfax goodwill store.
I was in DC again on Tuesday June 17 and visited a GW in Arlington, VA that doesn't take donations. I had stopped to do a shoe check and see if they had a cheap bag I could use to check my purchases on the flight home. I looked thru the pants and saw these pants that were a gray stripe, taglia exclusive".
Put them together just now and definitely a match. same dude listed as the client on the label. Same Store. all numbers matching on the tags.
10 weeks later, at a different store.
and on the issue of listing size. I posted a Brioni sports coat last night tagged a 44L.
The measurements were:
Shoulder: 18 5/8"
Sleeve: 25 3/8"
Anyone buying this based on a 44L would have been a guaranteed return. ain't no way.
In my mind, Listing this as the tagged size would have resulted in an unhappy buyer.
I believe Wes lists as measured size in his title, Spoo and Brian do label sizes. I can see the logic of having the tag as evidence of size, but at the expense of a buyer wanting to return it, and since you don't take returns, just unhappy.
Since this has been a recent topic, I listed it as:
BRIONI Wool Double-Breasted Sports Coat Suit Jacket Blazer Black 42R-Tagged 44L
I listed it in the item details as 42R, and added an other detail saying "tagged 44l, see measurements"
Added my standard weasel words:
A Word About Sizes
This jacket is tagged a size 44L. However, it measures to 45”, which would equate to a size 42-43 ish in today’s tailoring. Given the shoulder measurement, it leans towards 42. Plus the length is 30.5 inches which is on the short side of regular. So even though this is tagged a 44L, it will wear like a 42R with a trim fit in the waist. Please note that as a pre-owned item, it could have been altered for the previous owner. Please compare the measurements I provide below to a jacket that fits the way you like.
And added my standard table of measurements:
Approximate Jacket MeasurementsShoulder seams across
Length from Bottom of Collar
Pit to pit
Sleeves from shoulder seam
25.375” +1.5” to let out
Number of Buttons
Number of Vents
I would appreciate feedback on this approach.
^i think that's a great approach. Posting tagged size is great for NWT items, but since so much of the stuff we find has been altered for the previous owner, it makes more sense to include the measured size in the headline and then explaining the tagged vs actual in the details.
That's a very solid approach and i think it works fine. You are being honest and transparent which is a good thing however some Ebay buyers see things differently.
Quote: These 2 have considerable amount of feedback and Ebay customer service experience. Brian also posted his experience on how he won an Ebay case arguing on tag sizing instead of relying on measurements.
This is true, bought a pair of jeans tagged 38 x 34 they got here and were 34 x 31 and I lost my case case of the tagged size.
The picture below represents a 42R that measures true to its tagged size. However, let's say the jacket is tagged a 42R but it measures a 40R. I will change the text in parenthesis to read "measures a 40R, please refer to measurements." I will also list it as a 40R in the title of the auction.
I have an auction with a BIN option up that I want to change to BINOBO.
Ebay not letting me.
Is there a way to do it or a reason its not supported?
And on my other question, thanks everyone for their feedback. I think I pretty well understand the various positions. I just don't like it for a couple of reasons.
If its an auction, you cannot have a OBO linked to the BIN. You have to end the auction, change the listing format to "Buy it Now" , and from there can add on the "Or Best Offer". Cannot have all 3.
2.Auction + BIN
4.BIN + OBO
^^^^Right. I'm trying to change it from 2 to 4.
That's all. Its set on a 10 day right now.
Someone is making me an offer I want to take and I need to remove the auction to move the shoes.
