There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Definitely don't need anymore polos, I realized I am something of a hoarder. I am cleaning my closet out cause we are getting it done by a professional. I found 5 NWT pants about $600 worth sitting in a pile under my winter coats waiting to go to the tailors. I always go a little overboard. Just took stock and have 5 BB, 1 BBGF, 1 Paul Stuart, 1 RLPL, 3 VV and 1 Lacoste. I may need an intervention.

Edit: and 1 Peter Millar I don't like cause it attracts fuzz so will be listing that

If the tie were a desirable one and the flaws not visible when worn, I might sell it but usually steer clear of listing damaged ties. I'd describe it as pre-owned, with a snag and a thread pull and say where they are - photograph with a coin to show extent, and say it needs a pressing. But unless it's a recent Ferragamo, Hermès, Brioni etc I wouldn't sell it at all, personally.

Bah, so I had two nearly identical items, just different sizes. One sold. I shipped it ASAP. Turns out I sent the wrong one. Buyer sends message on receipt flipping out, acts like I was trying to rip him off. Immediately explained mistake, gave him my cell number. We talked a bit, ended up deciding on me giving him a full refund, and he could keep wrong product. I initiate refund, and cancel. He eventually accepts cancel, but then leaves a neutral feedback. Can feedback be removed on the grounds that we canceled the transaction using "buyer returns product for refund" category? How badly do neutrals affect feedback score? Worth wasting 10-20 minutes on phone with eBay support?

They won't remove the neutral. The only thing to do is request the buyer to change it. No effect on your feedback score, but it will be a defect on your seller rating for the next 90 days (whether he changes it or not).

Neutrals literally don't impact your feedback score, but it is a ding on defects. Definitely worth calling eBay about and seeing if you can get it removed, though. Lower defect rating = higher Best Match placement.

I feel like we eat up this "higher best match placement" practice. Almost everything affects that, and sometimes I get frustrated because its never clear on how low or high we are in terms of "higher" or "lower" generalized terms. Sometimes you just have to keep on chugging and know you are doing the right thing, or else these placements will eat you alive with every move you question.

I honestly think I don't get any views from Best Match, too many people who've done this longer and with higher feedbacks than I. I think nearly all my views come from google advertisements, Sty-Fo, and AAAC. Maybe the odd views here and there from Wordpress/Tumblr.

Yep, I suspended them for the time being so I can get a metric of how effective they are, but I ran them for the past 3 or 4 months now. Contemplating Reddit adverts targetted to specific subreddits, but they cost per view as well as click unlike google where you only pay per click.

What were you spending per month on the Google ads (if you don't mind my asking)?

Started at 50, upped it to 100 a month the last month to see what a difference it'd make.

I'd love to hear whether or not you think it was effective, after you've taken some time without it.

Has anyone seen the new eBay Valet App? It is a new consignment service ran by eBay 30% to them.

I always ALWAYS send this message out when I open the case.

"Hello, DON'T WORRY, YOU STILL HAVE 4 DAYS TO MAKE PAYMENT. The following message is just being sent as a reminder, and notification of a pending case.

I have not yet received your payment for this item. Buyers are given 11 days to make payment for purchases. As a matter of procedure, an unpaid item case is opened automatically on the 7th day so that I can relist the item on schedule in the case of non-payment. Don't worry, you still have 4 more days to make payment, and the opened case has no negative effect on your eBay account. Please make payment within the next 4 days or contact me if you need more time, to avoid any further action."

It puts them at ease that the case is more a formality than anything. I used to get those angry messages all the time, even though my process is clearly spelled out in my terms and conditions, and I give a ton of time to make payment. Since starting using the message about 2 years ago, I have not received an angry message. One of three things now happens. The buyers either responds immediately by making payment, they contact me and apologize for the late payment, or they just ignore it and wind up with a strike.

I do this as well, and it's worked so far, splendidly.
