Waitwaitwait. You don't have to go to the post office for international stuff? I was under the impression that I couldn't just drop those off, that they had to go to a USPS person at the counter. Or does getting them picked up waive that obligation?

It has been a long time.....usually I only go in to take baked goods or something. Used to be an added fee for tracking, things change I guess.

I only have to go to the PO for international if it is going to Russia (I don't ship there anymore anyway) or one of the other "problem" countries.

Nope, you can get them picked up. Getchoo some of the envelopes that the forms go in. They print out with a stamp already on them and everything.

I actually snagged a pretty cool, minty Bert Pulitzer for Saks tie for under $1 the other day. Going to throw it on the bay this week or next, just out of curiosity. Gonna try to outspoo spoo.

How much effort do you guys put into shoes before throwing them up on the bay with photos? Also, I think it was ATLnoob that mentioned he lists small size shoes on ebay.jp; do you guys have rules of thumb for countries when listing specific styles/sizes/brands?

Damp cloth wipedown, brush shine. Less than 2 minutes.

About the same for me. Little longer on shells.

I mean, as much as it needs (e.g., if the shoes are in tough shape), but ideally this.

I love shining shoes, get a real kick out of it, so I usually clean and/or shine each pair.

Wish we had snow days...heck, I wish we had snow...
Haven't been to PO for international shipments in a long time. Do as Org mentioned, order the free plastic sleeves online, and print out from home (for most countries). Last one I had to go to PO for was Philippines I think. Even then, I have a sleeve already attached, and a hand written customs form already filled out b4 I head down. But its rare to have to go down unless its a certain country you cannot print from online.

+1. I use to put more effort into it, but I am putting less & less and just focusing on better pictures. I haven't seen a decline in bids or sales.

Heck no, do not waste your saphir on eBay shoes...

I picked up a BP Collector's Edition about two weeks after Spoo's sold for $$. I was relieved when I finally unloaded it last week for $10.

They better be real nice to use that, I enjoy the reward of shining shoes, so I will do it while watching some TV, but I use a lot of brushing and some Kiwi, good enough for Ebay shoes.

Pretty much it for me, only on dressy shoes of cousrse (I sell a lot of outdoors/cycling shoes). I just polished up three pairs while my studio lights warm up.
