I bought an item recently. MSRP was $300, I ended up getting it for around $115. Seller left a Nordstrom Rack tag for $75 on. I still felt like I got a great deal, but could see how someone could have been pissed off not because it's logical but because eBay attracts the scum of the earth.

I would take it off even if the buyer gets a good deal some people feel like they need to get the BEST deal. Why not minimize risk to you

Just touching on that again... there is NO upside to leave on the price you paid... what is your benefit [IMG]

Someone who knows Barbour better then I.....it looks "black" or very dark navy. The trim is obviously navy so that would make the material navy also, right? Common sense they would use black trim on a black vest. One of the hardest things for me is determining between black and dark navy

Thanks brochachos, the NMLC tag is getting clipped. That's the direction I was leaning, I just wanted to make sure it was standard practice before I did so.

@ Brian, it can be tough to tell over the internet due to color balance issues with different cameras & monitors, but if those buttons are true black with a little bit of brown in them as it appears to me, then the main jacket color is definitely navy.

+1 on the tag issue And...pretty sure Barbour doesnt do much in black, and it looks dark navy to me as well.

This is a little bit of good news (sorry if it's old but just saw this in a message):

"As announced this spring, to reduce unpaid items eligible fixed price and auction-style listings purchased with Buy It Now will remain for sale unless the buyer pays right away. That means buyers must first add items to their eBay Shopping Cart to purchase multiple items with a single payment."

Not much, but I'll take what I can get...

There has been a bunch of talk about this (not here but on other sites and the ebay forum if you google it). It seems some people love it and some hate it. It was also rolled out only on a few beta items to start with. For items that we sell if they transition it to clothes it should be a positive I think, but for people selling the same exact NIB items like a small flat screen TV where you have 10 large ebay stores selling the same exact item there seems to be issue with the system.

I always cut off the part of the tag with the price on it and leave the rest on so its still new with tags. Maybe this person thought he had to leave it all there.

You get to choose which tags stay on the item and which are removed. Engineer it so that the buyer sees that he has a good deal. Of course the item is the item, and its value is its value. So the price tag should not matter but some buyers will get their panties in a wad if you make "too much profit". A childish concept, that.

Going a step further, the current Brooks Brothers Custom Tailored line (made by Southwick) always has a manufacturer's tag inside the inner right chest pocket. This has some indecipherable (to me) numbers on it, but it also usually has a size. This size is quite often not the size of the jacket, going by measurements. A jacket which measures as a 44R by comparison to other jackets may have an inner tag with 46L on it, for example.

These are MTM items and I am guessing that the fabric pieces are laser cut by a computerized system. I also suppose that based upon the measurements a decision is made to start with a particular standard size and then alter every measurement from that baseline starting point. Maybe the shoulder is the key measurement. So this guy is a bit big in the shoulders and the 46 is chosen as the starting point. But he is a little narrower in the chest so the jacket is built with a chest size for a 44. What we have here is a custom item which is going to be a perfect fit for someone but does not exactly conform to certain standard classifications of size.

And that is why we on SF are such sticklers for measurements on suit, blazer and sport coat jackets.

And yet I took a return on SF a few months ago on a Custom Tailored BB suit. Paraphrasing the buyer's message from memory "The suit fits perfectly but I see that it is not a 42R, but is instead a 44L which has been altered to the measurements of a 42R so I am returning it because you misrepresented the size."

At that point I changed my policy. If an item is on my rack I own it and I will decide which labels and tags stay and which ones go.

TLDR: Remove or leave labels on to give the information which you want to give. Giving too much information can confuse or anger some buyers.

E-Delcon require signature confirmation in Canada? Other countries?

And ugh so many dumb messages recently claiming I have no idea what I'm talking about. I don't really understand why people spend effort to send messages that make no sense

I'm so incredibly close to reaching that Top Rated Seller status. Hoping it'll motivate me and make me up my game even more once I hit it. 80 transactions and 97.8% feedback currently. Getting one neg feedback early on really hurts.

Got a message from a buyer, and if you want to return something that is not a SNAD, this is how to do it. I get so few returns, and will have no problem re-selling (Barbour gilet), that I'm happy to take it back. Guy really schmoozed me, complimenting me on my mad measuring and packing skillz - flattery will get you everywhere!

<my name> - the Dunmoor vest was delivered today in perfect condition. It's a beautiful item, but I'm going to have to return it to you. You posted the right measurements with the listing, but what you - and I - did not account for was the thickness of the interior insulation. It is the equivalent of about one full size, the difference between an XL and a Large. I can zip this vest alright, but it's simply too tight. I have no one to give this to; therefore I am returning it to you so someone else can enjoy it. I plan to return it to you in the same box and packaging it arrived in (good job on your part, by the way). I expect to get to my local post office on Monday (Dec. 2nd.) Please let my know when it arrives and when you will post a refund. Thank you again for making this vest available; it's a beautiful garment and I'd love to keep it, but I just can't wear it. Regards, <buyer name>

EDIT: also, I'd say any of you guys who have NWT items, list them all this weekend! Cyber-Monday is this Monday, and online sales are expected to be 15% higher vs. last year. Don't forget to include the UPC in your listings - buyers will also comparison shop while in-store using smart phone bar code scanners and buy online if they find it cheaper & with free shipping. Happy selling season!

    Re: tags discussion...

If you bought, say a $325 pair of sneakers for $5.60 at a thrift shop, would you leave your price tag on when you sell it for $150?? Same thing on a more exaggerated scale for your NMLC TAGS!
