The proxy is a shipping company that simply receives packages/shipments inside US, and ships them out to their customers (located in Scandinavia). So no, they don't open packages or anything like that. You get everything as it was shipped from the seller.

Case A: Seller covers return from here(Norway), and back to me(Norway). He will be down 120$, while I'll be down 0$.
Case B: Seller covers return from here(Norway), and back to my proxy(US). He will be down 70$, while I'll be down 50$.

I'm of course hoping for A. He'll probably lose most of his sales profits on this one, but I guess it's a lesson learned, and he'll triple-check future shipments.

(FWIW, he knows I'm located in Norway, and told me to return the suit on his bill. So that issue has been solved, just awaiting for his response on the last part)

Adding to this, I've been getting into the $9.99 starting price on the majority of my things in hopes of getting repeat buyers.

Some things go for a lot: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321235087502?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649
Some things not so much: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321235153101?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649.

Even the low selling items are still a profit, albeit a very small one, but there have been 2-3 times where someone has won an item for an insanely low price and messaged me after receiving it, checking to see how often I list stuff because they're excited that they got a steal. I've gotten several repeat buyers because of this. Also, there's more of a thrill for me as a buyer and a seller to sell and bid on items that start out cheap. Like Shoeluv said, knowing it's possible to get a great deal, even if it rarely happens is way more fun than a shoe company or whatever using it as their main store. (Not that I'm against that in any way. eBay fees are a lot cheaper than running an e-commerce site yourself.)

WTF? I just got this message from eBay. I sold these coats almost a month ago and know for a fact that they weren't listed again on my account. I was in the selling section less than 30 minutes ago. Any idea why I got this? Is it a glitch with Garage Sale or something? I had just put up a couple random items.
    -----------------------------------------------
    You recently listed the following:
    321223603204 - Coat 1
    321223603531 - Coat 2

We removed these listings because you've had too many duplicate auction-style listings that didn't end in a sale. The items we removed are duplicates of other auction-style listings that are currently active on your eBay account.

Too many duplicate listings from the same seller clutter the site and hurt the overall marketplace by making it difficult for buyers to find and purchase what they want.

If you continue to have duplicate auction-style listings, you may be subject to a range of actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.

For more information about our duplicate listings policy, please visit:

    We appreciate your cooperation.

    Thanks,

    eBay

For eBay stores, anyone know the maximum % allowed for markdown manager? I occasionally get an error saying my markdown has exceeded the maximum allowed, but it doesn't tell me what that maximum is (percentage or otherwise), and online customer support doesn't have an answer. Thanks.

I spent 1.5 hours at my friend's bike shop photographing and inventorying part of the clearance section. A new chapter behins for my Ebay store tonight. The first round will be 28 pairs of shoes. It's gonna be fun!

I think 75% for a regular store might be right. I've gotten down to 71% off and any more than that (trying to do $ off, not % off) seems to be at/near the limit). Thanks dudes.
