You should start a thread eBay WTF listings. I have several posts ready...
Introducing the "Hall of Shame, eBay Listing Bloopers, What NOT to do" thread
FYI here is my first set of photos with the new lights. Only edit is a quick resize and an auto contrast. Super happy so far with the time saved. Used a light stand for the maniquinee which is working out great. New backdrop should serve well to even out the final little shads in the backround you see now.
Going to try and add another light to the top, but not sure. The hard shadow I see on the left lapel does not really bother me
@TX - did you say you had the D3100 also and were able to take a background pic first to adjust the color?? How do you do that??
You all know I love my Outright eBay app......
that video is awesomeness. I do love outright myself!
Menu > shooting menu > white balance > preset manual (scroll to the very bottom)> measure > it will ask you to take a picture of a white or grey background, take a picture of your background, getting it to focus on something (suppose you could switch to manual focus) is the hard part.
Before I found that I was dicking with the little cursor in the color wheel/graph thing. No more.
Thanks guys, really appreciate the help.
Averaging 1 non pay per 9 sales the past 2 months...second time on same (summery) item. Maybe I'll get rid of it by Christmas. And WTF do i have multiple watchers on BIN items...that are only $10-$12.../rant
Mostly a brag, but also related. Sold my super recent Bijan tie for $180, most likely just because I used the BINOBO format. Before I'd been using auctions and profiting peanuts on a lot of stuff, but this has proven far superior(for my sales at least) in just a couple weeks. Thanks for the tips here Brian!
Versace ties at Marshalls for around $50-60 each. No Versace tag, just a Marshalls tag. Worth the pickup for a flip as NWT will be hard to prove?
Thanks, worked wonders. Just got in my super white background and it makes a HUGE difference. Here are photos of my for the time being finished setup.
I now only resize and auto-contrast. I could prob just use the Raw photos if I really wanted to. The lighting/background are that damn good now IMO
1) Raw - Unedited out of the camera
2) Size Edited
3) Size Edited + Auto-Contrast
very nice. I'm looking for color differences between the 3 views. On my mbpro I can't tell a difference, I'll check when I'm hooked up to a cinema display.
You already had nice photo's but these help a buyer like me a ton. I'm sure your set up takes up a good bit of space. I hope you get to leave it in place and don't have to break it down very often.
