I just came across a seller whose entire store is just hundreds of marked-up Amazon items, complete with Amazon pictures. He just...orders the items using the eBayer’s address.

He’s got 91% positive feedback.
There are multiple guys that do it with shoes:

Three different sellers (or a the very least different accounts), pictures straight from the AE website.

Why do they even bother? That middle one has 1,096 listings for AE shoes, and only 2 sales since DECEMBER 1!

If I had to take an guess:

Once the listing is made, it's essentially zero work afterwards to keep relisting. So why not? In that time period, he's got just under 700 total sales. The net profit from those 2 AE sales probably paid for 30% of the his costs for an anchor store for those 3 month. It's not hard to see the he's making money for VERY little work.

Do I think that marking up $400 shoes by 50-90% is a good idea when the vast majority of people are buying crappy shoes and dressing like slobs? Not really, but hey whatevs. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have some minimum wage employee to do what little actual work is required, whatever he makes is free money.

Buyer is unsatisfied with condition of the heel of a pair of boots, though there was a close up shot of the heel posted in the listing. Just accept that the buyer will win anyway despite this obvious flaw in his logic?

Do you guys think fixing minor issues on jackets is worth the money/time invested?

Say I have a jacket that has some lining separation on the inside armpit...
...is it worth it to take it to a dry cleaner to have fixed if the jacket should sell in the $200 - $300 range?

Do buyers care about stuff like that?

i'll fix things like that myself, youtube sewing tutorials abound. i resewed down an inch or so of collar felt on a zegna overcoat and had to match a simple blanket stitch, my consignor got a fast 400. everybody happy.

I've absolutely done work like that. If I was doing volume, I'd send off to be fixed though, take that 15 min I would be fixing an armpit and list 3 or 4 things. For hidden stuff, there's always cheap tailors at the dry cleaners that I would never trust with important stuff.
