LOL - reminds me of a story back from college...

But in the context of eBay, that is kinda funny, and pointless on their end if you ask me...
I've had this happen a couple of times where people use the best offer feature, and I make a reasonable offer, only to have them come down $1 and say something along the lines of, "our margin is very small, yad yada yada." THEN WHY THE HELL DID YOU USE THE BEST OFFER FEATURE.!?!

I flat out told some idiot seller that he lost a sale to me simply because he kept auto-rejecting my best offer price. I ended up buying from someone else for $1 more than he would have been willing to settle for. He said, "Oh, you're a seller. You know what selling on Ebay is like." Yes, yes I do, and you're not going to survive, Bub.

I have mine set to the min. I think 72 hours... not 100% sure. I would d 24 hours if I could. If you buy something, I expect you to pay for it, just like you expect me to ship it within 24 hours. Buyers get tooo much time to pay for items especially BIN items. IMO (not that it matters) but when the buyer makes and offer it should tell them that if the seller accepts the item it will automatically be paid for by their paypal account and that they cant make offers until they have a paypal account linked. The only reason I see not doing this is for combined shipping, etc but would make life SO much easier.

I would also jump at the chance to do 24 hours. It pisses me off to no end when someone clicks buy it now without paying immediately. If it's a few minutes while they're adding other stuff to their cart, that's fine. But c'mon, I don't want to wait four days while you decide if you want the item. Someone else might want it!

Why don't you guys require immediate payment on your BINs? Doesn't help on OBO but I still have people buy at my asking price without offering (I love those guys).

I do....but most people make offers

Also, any studio photography guys here point me in the direction of a good light kit with a flash....vs the hot lights I have. I cant seem to generate enough light and have two Lowel Rifa 55 soft boxes pointed at the object. Current camera settings are 1/50 - Iso 1600 - f:6.7. Would like to be able to bump down the ISO and also increase the apature but the pictures get too dark. Is there a corrlation to how many watts i need in light power split between 2 lights to be able to light up an object in a dark room?

Take it a step further, in auctions if they make a winning bid, the paypal funds immediately transfer.

Watts don't matter, that just signifies how much you're paying for electricity. The more lumens your light has, the brighter it is.

Quote: Interesting. I never use USPS insurance anyway, plus everything of value goes Express these days (thanks Spoo

).... That said, the shipcover insurance offered though ebay should still be available for the UK via Priority Mail I would think as its an independent insurance company.

If its valuable enough to insure its valuable enough to ship with Express mail is my thought

Neither was available online, had to go to the PO. Thought that was weird too.

Near the end of 2013 I bought a suit from a big, popular ebay suit seller.

I checked it over when it arrived and it appeared to be fine.

Finally got around to taking it to my tailor for a couple things, only to discover that in the light of day the pants are just a close fit, near the same color but a slightly different weave and material.

Am I just screwed? the transaction is like 8 months old.
