For the past 30 years, like his father before him, Callum Maclean has made a living weaving Harris tweed at his home in the far north of the island of Lewis. "It's a good life," says Mr Maclean, 58, from the village of Ness. "Hard times when the work isn't there, but when the work is there the lifestyle suits me down to the ground."....

Vivienne Westwood has long been a supporter and user of Harris Tweed, but I suspect for a long time, she was the only designer.

I'd love to see some less traditional stuff done in Harris. I'm in the middle of deconstructing a herringbone jacket to see if I can make something a little more unusual out of it.

i have been contenplating also getting some charcoal herringbone tweed and doning a JKT and an over coat simular to YSL's winter 06 collection but it is too late this year, so maybe next!
