Button stance question - off the rack suit Regular vs Long

For an off the rack suit, does button stance change when going from a Regular to a Long in the same size? Or is it identical but with longer sleeves and longer jacket-length?

I guess my follow-up question to you would be: is this academic or is it a concern?

Concern. I’m 6’2 with very long legs and a very short torso.

Typically the buttoning point is also lowered when going from R to L, so that the bottom of the jacket does not look disproportionately long.

I feel like the best answer is to go see jackets / suits in person and try them on and make sure the button position makes you happy, as across brands, the same (eg) 38R jacket might have pretty significantly different button placement, some suiting you well and some that you're not happy with at all.

So I guess, to try to peel the situation a bit better: am I right to assume that you own or have tried on a specific brand's L jacket, and right now want their R in the same size to replace it, but want to know that the primary button will end up in the right place on your navel? And that you're considering buying online, and thus not reviewing the fit in person?
