What would be great fabric choice for one who live in LA area.
It is very dry and sun is always up here.
So, should I go for 100% year around wool or Irish Linen suit or both?

Both. Year around wool is more versatile and formal, though probably
less comfortable than linen in the summer. Linen is more season limilted
even though LA doesn't have seasons in the sense of New York or London. One
probably wouldn't wear linen in LA in December, despite a temperature
in the upper 60s F. It is also more casual

What exactly is "year round wool" and what makes it "year round"?

Year round wool ends up being a bit too hot in the summer and a bit too cool in the winter, at least if you have seasonal variations in temperature.

Personally I'd go for a lighter-weight wool, at least unless I anticipated lots of outdoor luncheons in the sunshine. LA office buildings tend to be air-conditioned to an almost fetishistic degree, and I have been overchilled in LA much more often than I have been too warm.

have a look at harrisons conquest book... it looks/feels as though it would be nice for warmer weather.
