Many of us are aware that the trend for business casual workplaces has provided many a sartorial conundrum for those who do not want to join the pale blue button collar shirt and pleated khakis army.
I often wear a polo shirt under a sports jacket or blazer. Sorry if his makes some of you wince but I do live in Texas where the hot climate and more relaxed business atmosphere make this appear more acceptable. I work in the medical field and when I choose to wear a tie I'm usually better dressed than most doctors I work with.
Sometimes I think the polo, even better quality ironed Lacostes, lean tonfar to the casual end of he continuum amd yet I always think an open collar, even on the great George Clooney, looksnsloppy without a tie and I grimace whenever John Roberts or King comes on CNN sans tie.
Is there some combination on the continuum above a polonahirt but below and open collar dress shirt or am I destined to make the choice between straddling that line, going tieless or eschewing BC altogether and wearing a tie every day?
