Business Casual Attire?

My college game design club is competing in a game development competition at another university. The dress attire is "business casual". Which of these outfits do you think would best fit the occasion and look the best overall? I am one of the three presenters for the game in my club and I want to look nice to represent my college and club well. Also I've never really worn a suit or anything before (I'm usually a jeans and t-shirt guy), so any style tips would be great. Thanks.

Here's one from belk-

One from Nordstrom-

One from Men's Warehouse- This one is way too expensive for me, but I think I could put together a similar outfit.

Finally, one from JoS.A. Bank-

1. A necktie negates "casual".

2. Avoid a white shirt when going tie-less.

3. Don't forget a pocket square, even without a tie. It works, trust me on this.

4. Slip-on shoes are good but make sure they're well polished.

5. If the weather is cold, a good quality sweater under the coat is sharp.

Go forth and conquer!

Good advice there from Ol Sarge. Search the web for "asuitablewardrobe California Tux." You'll find good images of what would work.

I agree with the previous posts. Though I would suggest that you can still wear a tie. Of the links you posted, the Mens Wearhouse look seems to be the most appropriate. It's difficult to suggest colors without knowing what your color palette is. But I would generally avoid black. Navy jackets are safe. Mid to dark grey trousers as well. Pretty much every man looks good in a light blue dress shirt.

Considering you are a college student and going to attend a university competition, you most likely will be completely overdressed with everything you showed and also if you follow the recommendations you got so far.

Wear a dress shirt, chinos or dress pants, and dress shoes. Done!

I agree. If you want to wear a jacket, get a navy blazer.
