I once saw a card design that had about 15 or 20 different short statements about the guy. **** like "saver of lives" "hero to children" "man amongst men" and they kept getting funnier and funnier. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

But in 12 years of doing business with Japanese/in Japan, I've never seen anyone put blood type on a business card/resume, or heard of any business deal falling apart due to the blood type of the people involved. The topic does come up in small talk though, particularly with women, who seem to place great stock in it.

+1 Never received such a business card, and never heard of the practice either. Although blood type does come up in talk among friends, I think it would be weird to put such info on a business card.

I wish I could do the calling card thing and have thought about this, but chicks would think I'm a serial killer. Maybe I'll reserve it for when I'm wearing a suit only.

If you're actually serious about business cards, you cannot do it through "a website" as inquired about earlier. Find a competent graphic designer with knowledge of typography. They'll hook you up and will get it printed through a real printer. The cost is obviously going to be higher but if you guys are seriously showing disdain towards people who give you cards with their phone numbers and emails already printed on it (as expressed earlier), then you're 3/4 of the way towards the Bateman scene anyway...so a little cost shouldn't be that unreasonable.

A thought: if you're a creative and unique person, the "standard nontraditional" thing to do these days (yes, I'm aware of the oxymoron) is to set up the card so that it reads vertically - "portrait" instead of "landscape"...my card's that way. Kind of neat. It's a little bit of creativity.

Florida State had a quarterback one year who came on campus, as a freshman passing out cards that read "Chris Rix, Starting Quarterback for the Florida State Seminoles" and had his number and email. A girlfriend of mine was a lucky recipient of one of the cards. She thought it the height of douchebaggery. Apparently the amount of hazing this induced made him change numbers. He did wind up starting (after injuries & whatnot to people in front of him) but was perhaps the most hated quarterback we've ever had.

There are several websites that will do it, but as another poster suggested, you are better off working with a local printer. If you have the time to visit they can probably show you different card stocks and fonts.

Helvetica is one of many default business fonts. Others include Frutiger, avant garde and futura. you can look these fonts and others here:

I actually met Rix after a Canes/Noles game. He would make Hotchickswithdouchebags.com proud. What a major league cooltrucker.

Although the link is in German the names of the typefaces are exactly the same in English.

Also in the American Psycho business card scene the last 2 business cards shown are simply in Helvetica regular.
