When I burn MP3 files as data CD why do the songs on the CD I burned play in a different order than the list I created?

What determine the playback order of data CD? How do I trick it into playing in the order I desire?

Depends on your software; usually the order in which they appear in the burning software is the order in which they will play.

What program are you using to burn the CD?

Well, a data CD doesn't have any particular order since it doesn't have track numbers. So, what order your MP3s appears to be in depends on what you are using to play it back. I presume you have some sort of MP3 CD player, which might order tracks based on date added, filename, artists, etc. You might see if there's an option to reorder the display of the files (something equivalent to clicking on the filename tab in Windows.)

What are, specifically, using to play the CD?
