I personally thought this looked quite good. It can be done, see above.^
^^This colour is more like wine.
I like it..
The darker the better.
I think its still a stretch to say it looks good. He looks good sure, but thats movie stars for you. Most likely you will look not good. Possibly even, dare i say it, bad
I wore a burgundy blazer nearly every day for three years when I was a kid.
Quite like the suit and trousers on their own.
I think there should be this rule in dressing where if you doubt your ability to pull something off, you probably shouldn't try it.
I was asking myself the same question..
The reason is cheap is....the colour.
Nay is my answer to your question, just not a suitable colour for a suit apart from fabcy dress parties.
nay, really not appropriate in, let's say, a board or client meeting..
Didn't yfyf have one?
I have no plans of ever being in a business meeting.
I would say it's an acceptable color, but hard to pull off (unless you are Ryan Gosling).
I would go as dark as humanly possible, with a very sleek cut. Too bold and boxy and you're going to look like Ron Burgundy.
I also liked it much better as a blazer, the full suit is more difficult to wear right, I think. Blazer's are a lot more forgiving in the color department and allows for more adventurousness.
I like the idea in theory (a really dark burgundy, in something textured like mohair or maybe even linen), but have consistently wussed out when real-life opportunities to acquire have presented themselves. I suppose that says something...
With your epic windowpane DB suit, and consistently colorful fits of fearlessness, I'm shocked to hear of your apprehension to wear burgundy. In addition to this, I find you look much better in darker colors than lighter, so this type of suit would work for your propensity for color and it would work with your skin tone very well.
Just do it already!
Ron Burgandy halloween costume is the only thing I think of when I see a suit that color. I'm currently in the market for one..... for halloween.
I think he ruined it for every-day use.
