Hi,

so after over 20 years I found the Barbour jacket of my dad and it fits perfectly. I'm so happy, I found it. But I immediately remembered, why he only wore it a few times. My mom had greased it with the most horrible stuff and it still stinks, sorry, like a dead animal. It's so bad, that people leave the room and I cannot stand it myself. After so many years, it still smells and also it is extremely greasy when I touch it. The benefit of it is, that it's condition is immaculate. Just like a new one.

What can I do, to get that horrible smell out? It's been sitting around for so many years, without getting any better. Is there a way to gently wash it with a machine, without laundry detergent? Should I send it to Barbour??? Not sure what to do, but I really want my dads jacket:)

Edit: Cannot change the title but I meant Barbour

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
