I am considering on bidding on this Burberry trench on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...Category=57988.

I generally wear a 42L suit and measure a 43" chest. I was wondering if this particular trench, tagged a 38 but with a 45.5" chest will be large enough to accommodate wearing with a suit?

I would tend to say "no", simply because trenches are notoriously hard to measure well, because they are double breasted and because they have raglan sleeves.

I usually take a 43 or 44 suit, and I have a 44 Burberry trench. I can easily wear a jacket underneath it, and it's not tight when I do, but it's not enormously baggy either. I really can't see that a trench labelled as a 38 would fit a 42 suit jacket, unless the labelling or the measurements are off.

Still, if it sells cheaply (I see that bids are only at $5.50 at present) then you might as well buy it and see.
