I was wondering of the quality on these ties... I picked up a few at a sale at Saks and was thinking about getting a few more... they were about 70 dollars i think...

They seem like pretty well made ties

I know that Drake's has done at least some manufacturing for Burberry. The only caveat with their ties is one would want to avoid the Burberry novacheck.

    .....

I'll have to have a second look at those ties at the outlets again.

I exchanged a couple of emails with a woman at Drake's a few months back, and she mentioned that they had done  work for Burberry. I don't know how extensive that relationship is/was.

I own one Burberry tie. I like the pattern, but the construction isn't on par with my 50 oz. Drakes from STP or my Drakes grenadines bought at SOF.

Burberry ties aren't too bad. I don't think they're as nice as brands like Brioni, Stefano Ricci, and/or Faberge. But for $70, I'd say you did okay. I certainly would never pay full retail for a Burberry tie.

Drakes no longer make their ties, and hasn't for at leat 3 years or so. The Burberry ties are made by brown and church now and are an ok tie for the money. $70 is only about 40% retail but if you like the tie enough price shouldn't matter.
