Good afternoon Gents, I have been looking around the site and there is some info here on Burberry but not much so as a long time follower but never a poster I thought I would start my 1st thread!

I was hoping to get some great advice on Burberry suiting. Mainly the London line but any info would be great.

Has anyone purchased much of burberry tailoring? How does it way up to the competition in terms of quality etc?
I know the majority is made in Italy but I also noticed some made in portugal jackets when i was in the bond st store last week. Opinions?

I dont want a fashion suit, more of a high quality product and I love to buy into a brand. I understand you pay a little more for the name but if the product is good I really dont mind so much.

Any thoughts? Have any of the tailors here altered any burberry suits? Are the internals up to scratch? Any and all info would be very much appreciated.

Not sure about London, but I believe the Prorsum line is made by Belvest. I've had a couple of older odd jackets pass through my closet that were made in the USA (Hickey Freeman), and assuming the London line is the modern equivalent, not bad quality. That said, to my eyes the entire current suiting line is too fashion forward.

Hi HughJ, Many thanks for the reply. I am interested to learn that the porsom line use Belvest. I have had some MTM suits from there through Gieves & Hawkes and even though found them to be very italian they are a beautiful garment.
I agree with your fashion forward point. As a heritage brand I would love to see more of the Burberry tradiition that they do so well in the trench program comming through in their tailoring.

Just found out that Lardini are infact the 'made in italy' factory for London.

Thoughts?
