Hello,

I had a question regarding fit on the Burberry Prorsum line. I'm getting prepared to purchase a Prorsum overcoat (double breasted) and do not have the luxury of trying one on (no Prorsum is sold in the Cleveland are

). I wear a 38R to a 40R depending on the vendor and the coat I'll be buying is a 38R. My questions are as follows:

1) How does Prorsum generally fit? Snugger/ more modern? I know the London line is rather clasically cut (big)

2) If, indeed, the coat is too small in the torso, is this an easy fix (move buttons over a bit)? I imagine it's dependent on how off the size is, but even if it's an inch or two off, is this a task a decent tailor can take on? Or is this "inoperable"?

Thanks so much!

Depends somewhat on the season, as a more fashion oriented line they may play around more with dimensions than more traditional brands. In general, I'd say they run pretty slim so I would stay towards the larger end of your spectrum. I have a few pieces from Prorsum and have tried additional on in the store. I am a 40L in suits from most brands, but in Prorsum suits/SCs I am more comfortable in 42. I guess in the end it's best if you have a rough idea of your dimensions and then ask seller to measure.

Depends hugely on the model... I tried an olive military DB overcoat in 54 which fitted me fine. But there was a trench coat in brown cotton in 54 and I couldn't get my arms through. However the general rule is that they're pretty slim fitting.
