Burberry Coat Sizes

This is worthy of being a separate thread. My "new" vintage Burberry rain coat - age unknown (though shell 67% polyester, 33% cotton, lining 50/50 if that helps in dating it) - has a tab inside a pocket saying "44 REG." Burberry's current website relates their 44 coat to an "XS" (i.e. "extra small)" yet my coat seems like about a medium or 38-40 U.S. size. Is something missing here? Has Burberry changed its size definitions over the years?

One might be referring to the European 44 size, which is an American 34, thus the x-small.

This size equivalent thing gets really hairy! Attached charts, which comparis British and American men's coat sizes, completely disagrees with that Burberry has on its own webpage. If one plugs in the "44" under "British," it also gives a "44" for American here.

British and American coat sizes are the same; EU sizes are approximately 10 higher.

I've run into many who say that, but how would you explain the chart on Burberry's own website?

I had another chart on before (what became of it?) but it specifically referred to a "RR REG." as an "XS ("extra small").

So, according to the above chart, a "44 REG" tag on a Burberry coat could be equivalent to a U.S. "extra small," equivalent to a U.S. "38 or 40 regular," equivalent to an
American 44, or equivalent to a U.S. 48.

quite a mystery there lafont even better than the mysterious pockets if i understand you correctly you should contact executive i agree with rjman he knows a lot if you have mysteries or are mystified by tasso elba and ralph lauren tees if he doesnt accept emails you should just pm him edit it just occured to me that you may want to contact eric glennie

Of course I've contacted the Great Burberry themselves but no response so far - not even one of those form e-mails (i.e. "We've received....") yet....
