I need to purchase a suit. I know this isn't much but I have a $100-$150 dollar budget. Any advice in S.CA?

For $100-150 best bet is buy used from thrift stores, ebay, or from the forums here. Otherwise, if you go retail, H&M or Zara on sale probably. That budget doesn't give much to work with, unfortunately.

Search for clearance malls in your area. You won't get much for this money new. I agree with Sportin_Life, get out to thrift stores and be prepared to have some minor alterations and dry cleaning done.

Thank you! I am looking into Overstock as I read this. In a few months I will make it right and get a more proper suit in the $300 range and build up from there.

You're not going to get a new suit with a $100-$150 dollar budget.

300 range is reasonable. If you know your size check out the bluefly.com sales (I bought and subsequently returned a 38s Theory suit for $250, b/c their cuts don't seem to be slim as they used to be), yoox.com (you can get amazing deals), or the UK Mr. Porter site currently, where you can get a j. crew ludlow jacket and pant separates for under 300 in total in solid charcoal. From the forums here, you can also land some nice stuff, including brooks 1818 suits, trend corneliani, or z zegna at that price possibly.

If you need to see/try it on in person, check out saks off fifth, barneys outlet, or nordstrom rack. You're looking more at lines like Hugo Boss or in house brands but they definitely have suits in the 300 price range.

Wow interesting a $100 suit? I wonder what kind of fabric they used...

It's a nice shiny poly/rayon blend.

Well, at least with a $100 suit you won't have to be paranoid about getting it dirty or an accidental coffee spill.

Even with some of the affordable options presented, this budget leaves little room for alterations. I strongly feel the OP is better off spending some time hunting around second hand shops and steering well clear of polyester.
