It's a blazer-style jacket as it is made with a double faced fabric. Relatively recent piece.

I forgot to ask, is this jacket a “blazer“ type jacket or a “proper” coat?

I ask as there’s a single pocket on the top left similar to sport jackets/suit jackets.

I’d classify it as outerwear.

Hopefully I don’t sound to pedantic but is the fabric considerably thicker than a typical blazer/sports jacket?

no way to tell for sure from the pic, but I would imagine that it is.

Like I mentioned earlier - BC uses double faced fabric, so the answer is yes, it is thicker.

"Considerably thicker" would depend on what is the benchmark.

@Charles Knight greetings! Resurrecting an old thread - just wondering if you are still selling BC stuff these days, size 48ish? Sorry, random. I'm just learning about the brand and found this thread trolling around SF, though I'd check. Cheers!

Hi guys. I am in the midst of a late mid-life crisis which includes an effort at an image update. I like wearing cashmere, and I have long admired BC knitwear. Frankly, however, it is way out of my budget. I can live with the fact that my resources will not stretch to a $multi-thousand sweater, but I sure like the look and the feel.

A couple weeks back, I was the high bidder in an eBay auction for a “new with tags” BC sweater. The transaction has been a nightmare, and the seller refused to send the sweater or respond to me until I pulled all the stops available to disgruntled buyers on eBay. Which aren’t so extensive, honestly. Shockingly, the sweater is apparently on the way to me after I made some noise.

I don’t trust this seller as far as I can throw a shoe. Will someone who has familiarity with BC let me know if the sweater pictured below is an actual BC item? I can post more pictures if necessary.

Thanks very much in advance.

I can’t speak to this piece in particular, but note that their Cashmere line is not necessarily 100% cashmere. It’s still nice, but maybe not what you were expecting.

I’m definitely anxious to get my hands on it - and my body in it - to see how it feels. I’m also hoping to get more expert feedback. I wonder if BC has some sort of program to combat counterfeits that would give me a definitive answer.

As for my expectations, I was 100% expecting to buy an authentic BC sweater. I know that the purchase price of ~$400 is absurdly low for a new BC. On the other hand, I wouldn’t pay that amount of $$$ for a knock-off sweater of unknown provenance and quality.

Thanks for your response.

Hi guys. Here’s a follow up to my previous email regarding a suspected bootleg sweater. BC will not authenticate it because it was not sold by an authorized seller. That policy makes sense, but it’s a bit frustrating.

I now have the sweater in hand, and I’m looking at tags. Can someone please tell me where BC size labels are generally placed? Below is a picture of a label that is sewn onto the side seam of the sweater along with the other tags. Does this look right to you guys?

Thanks tons in advance.

That is not the only tag. There are others. However, I had thought that BC sweater are marked with Italian sizing - not S, M, and L. Is that the case?

What does the BC SKU tag look like? Here’s what appears on this sweater.

Thanks very much.

BC sweaters can be marked in either italian size or letter size

What you're showing is the SKU tag, but the font is very wrong, including the wash tag is wrong, as well as the placement is wrong
