1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

I'm looking to find a pair of brown wingtip bluchers, preferably costing more than $100 and less than $300. However, I am very willing to spend more if need be.

Allen Edmonds' Player's shoe was on sale for $219 the other day, but as I went to buy it this morning, it was no longer available.

Also, would you know of any websites that have frequent sales on shoes, or point you to where one can purchase a shoe at a deal price?

Thanks a lot. I appreciate all of your help and concern.

Both shortwings and longwings qualify as wingtips. The Meermin link are bluchers.

They are also quite nice looking.

Sorry, I like shortwings better. I have not found any shortwing bluchers (danite sole) without pebble grain. I am looking for some in regulary calf.

    You look at Tricker's Newbury?

Must it have a Dianite sole? If not...

C&J's Bangor may work if you like more aggressive punch broguing.

    Carmina's 815.

    And be calf? If not...

These cordovan Marlows from RL are great.

Sorry...thought you said WITH pebble grain. I see now you were looking for a pair w/o pebble grain.

As it happens, I've been looking for the very same thing for quite some time now. I wasn't able to find anything I liked in a brand that I trust to last very long, but here are two pairs in the price range you specified.

Mercanti Fiorentini Men's Leather Wingtip Oxford

    Boss Black Hankie Lace-Up Wingtips

I tried AE Players, but returned them because the left one hurt my foot and they were more tan than brown. I also tried Carmina Fitzgerald shortwings (for Epaulet), but they were too snug as well and were a much darker brown than I wanted.

    I hope this helps.

Does AE still make the Lombard? They are essentially the Player's Shoe with their Executive rubber sole.

Here they are. Meet all you requirements, though the sole is Dainite-like rather than Dainite.

They're out of stock. However, they do sell the same model, but without rubber sole. Living in Norway with rain, snow and very cold tempratures, I must have rubber soles on such a casual shoe as a brouge derby.

These are my two options now:
1 Septime Largeur with leather sole, get local cobbler to glue on rubber soles
    [IMG]

2 Herring Kendal, have danite sole and storm welt. But I'm a little skeptical to pebble grain.

Oliver Spencer has some beautiful shortwings in brown leather. I wouldn't recommend buying those shoes, because you can get something in better quality in that price range, but they look beautiful, though.
