just wondering if a mid-20's year old guy can wear a sport coat with the following pattern

but with

3-roll-2 construction
2 side vents rear
flap pockets not patch

in a casual everyday-to day sort of situation, wanted to loose the old navy hoody and wear this once in awhile

the pictured one is from HSM and doesn't look as good as the one i want to wear

A sportcoat and jeans is actually a pretty hard look to pull off well, unless you go for something at the far end of the casual spectrum, like Harris tweed or an unstructured jacket (I really like the ones made by Engineered Garments, for example).

If you're going with a jacket like the one pictured, you'd probably be better off wearing it with chinos or flannel trousers.

Edit: I'd definitely wear this with jeans and heavy brogues (would look great on an older guy as well):

I wear a sport coat and jeans all the time. In fact I am picking up a brown herringbone jacket next month from MIna that I will probably wear almost exclusively with jeans. (It will have patch pockets but that is simply a personal choice)

I will probably pair it most of the time with suede shoes.

While I disagree that it's hard to pull off, I think JohnnyLaw's point about it being unstructured is quite good. Failing at this look usually involves a jacket that fits poorly, in which case it would fail regardless of what it was worn with.

I wore that exact HSM coat today with slim fit jeans and balmoral boots, got several compliments from strangers at brunch. My weekend uniform pretty much consists of jeans, ocbd and a sport coat. Jeans and SC is an effortless combo IMO.
