Brown suede shoes suggestion (Loake/AS/CJ/other)
I'm looking to buy online for some suede brown shoes for spring/autumn.

I bought in November some suede Loake Kempton chukkas from CT (http://www.ctshirts.co.uk/p/gbpdefa...ctdetail.aspx?ppp=12&sortBy=Relevance&page=1& back=False&canned=)
I'm not quite impressed by the quality or last and bought them half a size too small, but still decided to keep them. I have two other Loakes and some Alfred Sargent oxfords bought from Herringshoes and John Rushton in London and the AS seem much better quality.

Now I'd like to buy online some suede oxfords or derby for this spring (around 100 GBP). I made a short list

1/ these brogues from CT (Any idea who makes them?)

http://www.ctshirts.co.uk/p/gbpdefa...ctdetail.aspx?ppp=12&sortBy=Relevance&page=1& back=False&canned=&browse=Y

2/ and the Alfred Sargent derby from SH
http://www.shiptonandheneage.co.uk/erol.html#3449X3775

both for 99 GBP.

I would like something like C&J Belgrave or Drummond ("˜sexy' last) but cannot justify the price in suede. "˜Because of' this forum and SF I bought in the last 3 months 2 C&J handgrades Tavistock (tan) and Hanover (black) and paid about 200 GBP for each (in sale), so I'm kind of broken J

Do you have other suggestions for something more affordable than C&J and which do you prefer between the CT and AS?

(this was posted on aaac also, sorry for those who read both forums)

I have the C&J Dartmouth (3 eyelet derby) in brown suede. It's no longer on the Plal site, but be may be able to get it still. It was a little bit cheaper than a regular benchgrade shoe.

I have those suede semi-brogues, or at least an earlier incarnation. They are made by Loake. I've had my pair for three or four years, the last year or so treating them quite poorly. They have held up relatively well, and they've become something of a knock around shoe for me. I don't mind if they get wet, if I don't put trees in them right away (shocking!), etc. I couldn't see spending more than $125 or $150 on them, but at that price I think they offer fair value.
