Hi.

My suit and sport coat wardrobe is dominated by navy, and most of my trousers are mid and dark grey (fresco and flannel). I also have some tan and cream linen and cotton trousers for summer.

I am looking for a three season (fall, winter, spring) non-navy sport coat. I can see that a lot of people advocate for brown, but I am non-educated in the field of brown sport coats.

I have my eyes on this: https://suitsupply.com/en-no/men/jackets/brown-havana-jacket/C1275.html

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think this shade of brown will work with mid and dark grey trousers? Should I rather aim for something more textured/patterned (like herringbone, or houndstooth)?

I have a similar, albeit slightly lighter complexion as the SuSu model in the picture.

Thank you so much for your help!

Hello.

I have the best luck wearing brown jackets with beige/tan and navy trousers. I have charcoal flannel trousers to wear with navy blazers. If I were you, I'd buy the jacket and additional trousers. Then again, I'm sure the combination you're considering would look fine, as who's to notice but you?

While I don't wear that particular cut, the jacket looks nice. I have a few jackets made from Solbiati wool--good stuff.

I wouldn't recommend that color with grey trousers.
I agree with the above recommendation that blue or beige would work better.
