Brown shoes too dark? Light grey pants

Hello everyone,

Just looking for some thoughts on this shoe / pant combo. The pic I took shows a pretty accurate representation of the colours (shoes may be just a tad darker in person). I'm just wondering if it would be beneficial switching to a lighter shade of brown for the shoes and while we're at it.....what colour shirts would look snazzy with this pair?
