It's not. I'd never wear black shoes with a brown suit, it just doesn't look right to me. but hey, if others can pull it off, great.

I think of "stone" as more of a very pale gray, hence black shoes make some sense to me. I also don't wear black with tan as I don't want to be mistaken for ex-military, but I like SoCal's rendition and might try it someday.

Paging socal2nyc....

I remember him posting his RED Lanvin patent-leather shoes a couple of times before. Definitely not something I could pull off, but I think they're cool on him.

Maybe it's the lighting but I don't think the pants look all the brown to me more like an off grey. I like the shoes there nice, they seem to work well with the pants. I don't know if it would be too much unless I saw them with the jacket or knew what color shirt and tie you were going to wear with it.
