Brown shoes, black outerwear

Hi everyone,

I realize that brown shoes are not typically to be paired with a black sports coat, but do the same rules apply with casual jackets like a pea coat or other similar outerwear? I tend to prefer wearing brown shoes with light charcoal/navy slacks to the office, but currently only have a black coat (business casual dress code). Do you think the shoe/jacket combo in the attached pics would look funny?

No, brown shoes and jeans are fine, the coat matters not in most eyes.
