I just got a pair of oxblood AE Sanfords. They're my first pair of real shoes and I'm itching to wear them. Would they work with a dark brown belt? (I'm rather colorblind myself).

The way these colours show on my monitor: No.

Then I would rather not wear a belt. Well, in fact I would not wear the burgundy shoes.

looks pretty bad to my eye. i think it is the red in the shoe that prevents a straight brown belt from working.

I like the shoes, but not with that belt style or color.

You should be able to find the correct color belt without spending an arm and a leg. Great looking shoe by the way.

I agree, the color is not hard to find in stores and should be on discount this time of year. I used a cheap burgundy belt for years, and still have it.

In this case, I think the shoes are too red for the dark brown belt. Even more importantly, in my humble opinion, the shoes are much more formal than the sporty double prong buckle. Why not make a modest investment in a dressier burgundy leather belt? I'm sure you will get enough use out of it to make sense.

Why not buy a belt at AE? I was in the San Francisco store yesterday and they had quite a few colors and the quality looked good. Many are 20% off right now.
