Went to Marshalls today and saw some Brooks Brothers ties. Didn't buy any of them because I went to the tags and it said: irregular, was wondering what this meant as they looked basically fine to me but I was skeptical to buy.

Yeah they were $15, they looked pretty nice, some of them were not that great though.

When I saw them there and at TJ Max it looked like the patterns were crooked for the most part, that is my guess on their irregularity. I wouldn't have know it was irregular if it didn't say anything.

sometimes youll find a pulled thread or a slight spot or discoloration-- youll want to take a close eye to the one you purchase, but you can find a ties +/- the price of ebay

on occasion I'll come across a BB Makers tie with no defects on the racks. Seems like they get sneaked in everytime they get a batch of irregulars.

One lunch hour, cruising Marshalls I stumbled onto a pile of Dunhill (for real) ties in the latest colors and width. I bought about a dozen and later discovered microscopic flaws in a few (very faint pulls in a couple) otherwise they were fine. I'm sure they were seconds, but at <1/10 the price, I had NO second thoughts.

I was at one of our locals tonight and they had mostly 346s, some "irregulars" with no specific line named on them, and a few makers. Same prices. No patterns that interested me.

Not a fan of any of the Brooks Brothers ties I've seen at Marshall's and TJ Maxx... they're pretty lightweight and flimsy... not substantial... felt cheap. I like a tie with some substance. If those ties didn't have the Brooks Brothers labels, would you still be interested in them? They suck, as far as ties go.

Does Marshalls sell anything worthwhile (besides some of these BB ties)?

The local ones here had a raft of Lorenzini shirts last year...all gingham.

The BB irregulars I've seen at Marshalls (and T.J, Maxx) have all had noticeable creasing or appear to be asymmetrical.
