who would pay retail for anything at brooks brothers? Between corpororate discount and sales every month, I would expect to get at least 40% off retail.

any comments about quality? pilling for example? Some of them are priced just under BB's made in Scotland cashmere sweaters.

Bringin this back to ask about Saxxon wool v-neck quality once more. Stopped by the retail outlet which had them for either $35 or $39 - I forget.

Can you really go wrong at that price? Go on, be the guinea pig. Buy one and report back.

i have the charcoal and navy v neck saxxon. I like it, lightweight, esp in the area i live in, where it's pretty much 60-70 degrees 300 days out of the year. it's an extra fine merino wool, 16-18.5 microns as opposed to 19.5+ had em for about 3 months worn them each about 15ish times no pilling. i didn't get the cable knit ones, I'd probably opt for the cashmere sweaters since they are similarly priced. I think the cashmere sweaters from BB are one of it's best bang for buck products, especially when they have sales on cashmere for $199, can't really go wrong with several.

The sale price on a BB cashmere sweater is $199? What type are those and what was the retail price?

The bb outlet in my town doesn't even carry cashmere

BB markets this as 'Scottish' but still 'made in China' ... Enough said.

+1. Their sweaters are overpriced, there was a 40% off sweater sale in Dec last year so there's little reason it won't happen again this Dec.

They want $500 for saxon cable wool sweater... $50 more than cashmere cable sweater which makes no sense. For me to pay that price even with CIS it needs to be made in Scotland not China.

Identical to the ones above but "Imported".

Most of the BB clothes sold here in London are made in china or, for shirts, Malaysia.

It does leave a bad taste. If, say, Gap does it I can live with it. But BB as at a very different price point and markets itself as an iconic US brand. Then to see that nearly all of their stuff is manufactured in Asia does not look good.

Am sure quality is fine, but 'American' it is not.
