It's $500 or so after all the discounts, which seems like a decent deal, even if half-lined.

I would advise against it. I think the proportions of a topcoat, as opposed to sportier outerwear like car coats or mackinaws, are best with a length that reaches at least to the knee.
The item in question seems inspired by the short-slim-and-tight aesthetic which is heading for the junk heap of fashion history.

Definitely attest to how thin most BB coats are. They're too-slim fit and short.

They certainly go for a short, tight trendy style
in their suits.
