Ouch. They're like those shirts patched together from multiple patterns, only worse. MUCH worse.

Then again, I know a former co-worker who might actually wear these.

I am rocking it today in ,a Patch of madras. Maybe he refers to the striped BB shirts of ,circa 1989, of many different colors?

Not patch Madras, I know better than that! No, I meant the shirts pieced together with sleeves of different colors, different pattern on each half of the body...sheesh.

The "fun" concept -- different colors/patterns for different panels -- has been a BB staple for at least 20 years.

Does anyone know how they came about? I know other companies offer them as well.

As I recall, it was a mid or late '80s attempt to enliven their image.

Well, to be fair, madrasss can be pulled off (kinda, sorta, maybe) in some particular summer outfits, and chiefly in the form of shirts. At least it is 'consistent' in its casual-ness, colorfulness ruffled-ness ness etc.
But the flannel pants with geometrically/properly mismatched legs sincerely cracked me up

. Even funniers is that they actually call them "fun" pants. Coming from brooks it's just a carricature of the already questionable casual friday concept, and a self-inflicted one. Or the "wacky-tacky-tie-day" concept.

A bit of over reaction surely. No more ridiculous than those half staff pants that occasionally get salutes here as a major fashion statement. Brooks Bros will survive.
