Can anyone comment on the differences. I can only discern that the more expensive GF shirts use sea isle cotton, and they all have pretty thick MOP Buttons. I have this shirt, and don't know if its worth keeping. I purchased at 20% off. I also am not sure how i like French cuffs, I have never had them before, since I never wear jackets. http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...lor=Light-blue

that shirt looks like it's really meant to be worn under a suit, imho... spread collar & french cuffs don't necessarily work well without one.

if you don't love it, return it.

or do an IC (interest check) post in the B&S (buying & selling) forum -- what size is it?

Now, why should I wear a jacket with shirts with those features?

I have about ten of each of the Luxury and the GF shirt, including some of the Sea Island ones. Both lines are very nice, but they're cut quite full. I've had several of them tapered. The fabrics on the GF shirts are what really sets them apart. Of course, the Sea Island fabrics are even nicer.

The Luxury line has plastic buttons. The GFs, as you note, use nice, thick MOP buttons. I was surprised that, even on the $295 shirts (list), there is little effort to match the patterns. My conclusion is, if you can buy them at 50%, as you could during the recent sale, they're a good value. At full price, I'd look elsewhere.

What would I ask a tailor to have them tapered? Do they just slim down the sides, or play around with arm holes?
