Brooks Brothers for Tiffany & Co 2-piece tie? Eric Glennie inspired?

I came across a bunch of these today and immediately thought of rising design star EG (hope this wasn't patent pending). They must have been production samples. Snap connectors on one piece, but not the other. I have not seen this concept before. Commeth the ONEKNOT?

Conceptually, all I see is next level clip-on by way of pre-tied bowtie? Tie the perfect knot (i.e. ONEKNOT) and never have to re-tie it... just lift your collar and unsnap.

I'm sorry. I cannot fathom how these are supposed to work. What is the wide bladed part supposed to snap in to?

And I cannot imagine how either BB or Tiffany would want to be associated with this "concept," let alone both at the same time. I suspect some sort of extremely elaborate April Fool's joke.
