Has anyone purchased Brooks' Cotton Fitzgerald suit? http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...=&sectionsize= I love the look and thought it might be a good suit to add to my summer rotation (as well as take on vacation to the Caribbean). Does anyone have any experience with it? How business appropriate do you think it is? (I'll be working at a law firm in Los Angeles this summer and going into court fairly frequently.)

I have a Golden Fleece Fitzgerald Suit (wool) and I like it a lot. I would think that the cotton suit you linked will be more "wrinkly" than a wool suit just as khaki pants are a little more wrinkle prone than wool trousers.

The suit, if you can pull it off, would be fine for vacationing in the Caribbean but TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE for a summer internship at a law firm in a large city like LA. If you hope to get a full time offer or prefer not to get laughed at in the office, do not wear that suit to work unless you're going to court during the summer down south a la Matlock or My Cousin Vinny.

I don't think a khaki-colored cotton suit would be inappropriate in LA in the summer. I wore seersucker during my summer internships and got a job. To be on the safe side, however, stick to navy and charcoal wool suits.
