They fit true to size. I also wear 11D, and they fit me fine.

The scotch grain version is calf. It is indeed soft and wears well. I have it, too; but I find that I wear my shells more often.

I was told Alden, and believe that to be true although I'm not certain.

They are made by Alden. The shells for $340 are obviously a better deal than the calf for $300. They fit true to size.

edit: I just adjusted the pictures in my earlier post to show the detail a bit better.

I just ordered a pair of Longwings in Cord 9D. They are on backorder but they say they will be back instock 1/15/08 I will be very upset if they are not!!

This is a great deal for AldenLongwings since they usually go for around $600. Clunky shoe they are, but I can always find the appropiate outfit for classic chunky Longwing.

Yeah, I couldn't help myself and did the same, got the boots also.. Both were also backordered, but I've had this happen before and the order was always filled..

There are two boot options from Black Fleece. One is the "Perforated Boot" found in the Looks section and the other is the "Paddock Boot" found in the Accessories section. Both are made in England.

Does anyone have experience with either? They were not on display in Manhasset. I'd love to see a better picture of the perforated boot.

Whoever designed the BF section of the site should have been fired long ago. The idea of "looks" is fine. They just need to give you a view of the actual product when you click on it.

The salesman offered to let me try them on but I was in a rush to get to a Chanukkah party. I would go back but I will be in Jersey tomorrow.
