Alden, as are all of Brooks Brothers' American-made shoes.

(forwardpleated @ Jan. 15 2005,09:45) Does anyone know who makes Brooks Brothers' cap toe Bluchers? Thanks. http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatPr...._Id=202
If you are interested, I give 15% off on all Aldens as well.
I didn't see any on your Web site. Which models do you carry?

FYI, I ran across a calf black blucher (plain toe), and a cordovan corrected grain blucher, made in England for Brooks Brothers. I would bet my first child that they were made by Crockett & Jones on last 325. Btw, how can you tell which last is which on the Aldens? My expertise is limited to the Brits and a few Italians.

The easiest way is probably to go to a website like the Alden Shop in San Francisco that lists the lasts used on the various styles of shoes. The shoes that Brooks Brothers sells are, for the most part (the lining on the shell cordovan penny loafer, the foxing on the tassel loafer, and a couple of other details excepted), identical to the regular Alden models and are made on the same lasts. Shell cordovan wing-tip bal: Tremont last (although BB may have some old stock made on the Grant last) Shell cordovan plain-toe blucher: Barrie last Tassel loafer: Aberdeen last Cap-toe blucher: Aberdeen last

I should have clarified, what numerical codes correspond (written on the sock liner) to the name of the lasts used by Alden?

There is no pattern that I've been able to discern. I examined several pairs of my shoes on Aberdeen and Barrie just now, and I can't find anything consistent in the markings for either of those two lasts.
