I bought a pair of waxed suede Loake Bedale and they arrived yesterday.
I really like them, nice colour and they are very casual, the rubber sole seems a bit softer than Dainite.
I went out for a walk this morning and the boots were very comfortable,be interesting to see what the soles grip like in the rain also wondering what the waxed suede will be like in the rain.
I think that Loake are on a winner here,Goodyear welted Brogue boots but very casual,I hope that they make a shoe version.
My first pair of boots on the Penine last,I went down half a size and they seem a good fit,I think that the shape suits a Brogue really well.

Anyone know anything about these Arran Brogues?
I’ve looked online and there’s nothing which is strange,
I’ve also messaged the seller asking for a pic of the labelling inside but he’s not replied.

That was my thought too. The pic of the Avon in various sites has fewer punches on the quarters. I don't know if that varies with size though.
My Ardens* are very similar - with the same number of punches as the 'Arran' - but they are perforated. Don't think I would want that with a calf but I rather like it with suede https://www.cheaney.co.uk/cheaney-arden-gv-wingcap-perforated-brogue-in-maracca-suede-p565 Light for the summer but with a tough sole for walking on the shingle path I have to use at work.
They are on the same 12508 last as the Avon, so perhaps the Arrans are too.

*I thought they were Avons until I just checked!

I’ve been tempted by these Arran shoes but the fact there’s absolutely zero else on the web about them puts me off, very strange.

I googled Cheaney Arran and I think that it is/was a Loafer.
The ones in the picture are identical to my Cheaney Avon...if they are the Avon then that is a good price and the postage is low....but its Ebay so you always take a chance.

I’ve asked the seller twice for a picture of the labelling inside but no answer, although when asked about width fitting and price he responded immediately.
I will leave that one alone I think.

Ask him for a picture of the box ?

Sometimes the Ebay seller doesnt know what he is selling very well, best bargain I had was a pair of new Brogues made by Alfred Sargent with Commando sole £35 including postage...he hadnt described them very well but I recognised them from the picture.

The Cheaney Avon is a nice shoe imo but at the shop price (£465 i think) it is over priced (again imo).

These are also available but too small, nothing hidden in this description and seems a very good price.

Thats the starting price, the other pair would accept an offer...
Is it the Avon that you are after ?
