This "trend" won't last long once the economy tanks soon. Those price tags have risen much too high for the normal consumer who prefers trendiness.A very recent article in The Times on how instagram has made brogues fashionable again
Whether this is a good or bad thing is debatable.
Could be what you say. But look at what social media has done to the watch industry. Created undue hyper demand and a grey market where every Dickie and Roger wants a omega and a rolex now without knowing jack **** about manual watchmaking. And a result of this has been watch brands hiking up prices and profit margins. This "trend" won't last long once the economy tanks soon. I'd agree with you except that all that free money is gone now. It's a different world than when watches were a "trend". On a positive side if this does become a thing at least I bought into it early with my already absurdly large shoe/boot collection. No increased prices coming my way!Could be what you say. Global and local tourism has suffered from the same phenomenon.
I appreciate that the shoe industry might be a different ball game. But its the same social media hype creating that goes around like diorrhea

Nice. I don’t have a lazyman in my collection but they’re cool.
It's been mentioned quite often around here that Church's increased their prices for no reason other than to do so. It's now owned by Prada so do with that information what you will.Hello fellow broguemen. I’m puzzled and curious to know how C&J Pembroke retail at £595, whereas Church’s Grafton top the 1k mark. Does anyone here own both? I have some Pembrokes and would be interested to hear if this price difference is justified. I have a feeling that the answer will be that it is not.
Interesting how feet differ isn't it @Swampster .Nice.
The 12508 is a very generous last even though it is an F. I have some Arden brogues as well as a pair of non-brogues on that last and they fit me well, even though I normally need a high instep G last. I haven't tried those Connemaras though they look similar to some Loakes I have. I have been tempted by the Cheaney Avon on the same last which have oversized punches - I did buy a pair but sent them back as they didn't fit. I do wonder if was down to too much sitting (and biscuits) as it was during lockdown.
