Nice shoes. How do you find the finishing in your Cheaneys.? Inconsistent would describe my experience, with wayward or messy stitching being the main issue. In the footsteps of Jack Reacher - Cheaney Tenterden

I am a big fan of Cheaney's and can only speak positive about them from my experience. All opinions aside, one thing's for certain. Cheaney do better shoe laces than C&J
I like cheaney’s too but saying they’re on a par with Trickers, C&J etc is a stretch. My Pennines for example feel very lightweight when compared to Trickers Grassmere or my Grenson veldts. Inferior materials would be my guess but I could be wrong.I am a big fan of Cheaney's and can only speak positive about them from my experience. Me not saying or comparing if they are better or not. Was just quoting a shoehealer review.I like cheaney’s too but saying they’re on a pair with Trickers, C&J etc is a stretch. RRL?
Great choice these
I've had 3 pairs of Cheaney's, but all 3 were catch and releases for me. Honestly, I could find nothing wrong with any of them, but they didn't give me the same "Ooohhh" and "Aaaah" feeling that Tricker's and C&J do. I'd rate Cheaney slightly above Loake and on-par with my Carlos Santos. Cheaney may be slightly better in finish/construction, but lacks the last design of CS and the heft of Tricker's.
I'd probably not buy them again as I like my Loake's and Carlos Santos for everyday use, or go with something more expensive if I wanted something special. On the other hand, you can get lots of bargains on Cheaney (all of these were €100 or below new from the 2nd hand market) and they fit well, so wouldn't avoid them either.
