turner--- thanks. Had looked at some Haspels, but only saw the poly blends.

Will look around, maybe i can find some all cotton dead stock.

I wonder how much better a canvassed summer suit breathes than a fused one. I just picked up (at thrift) a J. Peterman un(der)constructed linen shirt-style sportcoat, but it has fusing in the front and in another layer under the front (it's lined with more linen). Just as an experiment I tried blowing through the fusing and it is definitely breathable, but I don't know how well it will perform in hot weather compared to the loose weave of the horsehair and cotton chest canvas of a well made suit. I have a Chester Barrie tan mohair suit (for which the pants are ruined, IIRC) but I would guess it would breathe a lot better than the equivalent fused version.

Does anyone have experience with both?

Cordings linen summer suit is beautiful. Not cheap, but you definitely get a pukka "Colonial Office" look.

yeah saw that yesterday on AAAC. The key being oddly, sized. While it is comforting to know that my 44R frame is average, it makes it a pain to find deals on clothes!!!!
