Although not a lawyer, I still have a pair of green wool dress trousers I purchased from them back in the very early 90s. Still look brand new...it came as a shock when I found out they went under! I miss that store.

I had some stuff from there in college, but just gave away the last thing I had, a wing-collared tuxedo shirt.
I doubt they're related. I think there's a thread or two about them already on SF w/ info about how/why they went out of business.

No. Not related. Britches of GTWN declared bankruptcy in 2002, but was effectively out of business way before that. (Probably about 1997 or 1998.)

Yeah, I used to shop at Britches and Britches Great Outdoors. Ahhh...my youth.

Britches of Georgetown was an amazing store in the late '70's. It had classic clothing with a twist that was smart and stylish for a younger man. It had Southern trad and preppy roots yet with a bit of spice. It was sad to see it fade over the years.

I always enjoyed shopping at Britches. Sadly, I don't have any reamining items.

I have a great heavy weight, half-belted, action-back, triple patch/bellows pocketed, brass buttoned, swelled edged, older blackwatch Chaps jacket I thrifted from there. Fit perfectly too, which is rare in the world of 36s (actually it was a 38s that ran small, also rare today). Probably the time of year to dig it out of the closet.

The best store I've ever shopped. Purchased my first pair of Cole Haans at the Lenox Square location. Beautiful garments, slacks suites, shoes and accessories with a most excellent salesman named London in all of Atlanta. Mark Shale was several stores down but Britches was the place to shop. Hated to see them go.
